Dr. Fred Munzer was born and raised in the Johnstown area. He went to St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and received his Bachelors of Science degree. He attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Munzer completed his internship at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. In Dr. Munzer’s role as adjunct faculty of family medicine for Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, he was awarded “Affiliated Teacher of the Year in June of 2001.
Dr. Munzer is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians in both family practice and geriatric medicine. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physician Society.
Dr. Munzer serves as medical director for Laurel View Village and has served as President of UPMC Lee Regional Medical Staff in 2005.
Dr. Munzer has practiced medicine in Johnstown since 1984 and has been in the Davidsville area since 1991. Dr. Munzer has hospital privileges at Conemagh Hospital.
Dr. Munzer is married to Barb, has one son and enjoys boating, hunting, computers, and more boating!!!!!!
