Dr. Chester Beres was born and raised in the Altoona/Johnstown area. He went to the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown and received his Bachelors of Science degree. He attended medical school at the University Of Pittsburgh Medical School in Pittsburgh. Dr. Beres completed his residency in family practice at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Beres was employed in Virginia until returning home to the Johnstown area in 1991.
Dr. Beres is certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Pennsylvania Academy of Family, and Virginia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Beres serves has served as medical director for UPMC Lee Regional Hospice, Board Member for Community Nursing, Inc., and 1998 Medical Staff President at UPMC Lee Regional.
Dr. Beres has practiced medicine in Johnstown since 1991. Dr. Beres has hospital privileges at Conemaugh Hospital.
Dr. Beres is married to the love of his life, Dorothy, has three children in college and enjoys football and golf. Dr. Beres is the team physician for Bishop McCort High School football team.
