Alleghenies Independent Physicians is a group of independent physicians working together in a unique design.  As an employee of Alleghenies Independent Physicians, each physician is given ownership of their professional destiny.

The corporation founded by Brian Gunnlaugson, M.D. began as a result of his experience starting a corporation after being employed in a hospital based system.  He learned quickly the numerous resources that were required to start a corporation including legal, accounting, establishing benefits, practice management systems and the affect on cash flow.  Dr. Gunnlaugson made the decision to form Alleghenies Independent Physicians initially as a vehicle for other providers making the transition from an employed hospital based relationship into private practice.  The corporation is now the largest independent physician group in the local Johnstown area and continuing to grow.
